Old Age Makeup, Part 14

Hey, what happened to Part 13?  We’re not superstitious, but as we went along, Part 13 became the prequel to this course.  This is the end of the course, but we will add a few other variations to this over the next week or two or three. 

Hope you learned something from this that you might be able to put into other uses.  Perhaps when Halloween rolls around, rather than a costume, a good makeup job might be equally or more effective than the costume or mask.  Modify it a bit (mustache, beard, eyepatch) and you might become another character.  For more on stage costumes and makeup, as well as all the other costume possibilities, visit us on a regula basis at CLICK HERE

Old Age Makeup, Parts 11-12

Now we’re in the middle of the stream on Old Age Makeup for Theatre course.  We will have at least one more session.  This first video tends to roll into a second video which probably should be implanted a little later.  There actually is a second video here, unrelated to the addon in the first video.  Are you confused?  So am I.

Stage Makeup – Starter Course

This is a starter Stage Makeup Course.  More to follow.  I noticed Revlon being one of the brands being used in this discussion.  My suggestion is to go to a theatrical costume shop (maybe even try Amazon in the red banner at the top of the screen.  No not there….WAY at the top of the screen) and look for brands like Mehron or Ben Nye.  For more on costumes and stage makeup, visit us at CLICK HERE

Stage Makeup

Beginning tomorrow, and for a few weeks, we will start a series of videos on stage / theatrical makeup from the very basics to more sophisticated character makeup using prosthetics, liquid latexes, crepe hair,etal.  These videos may or may not be an any special order, but you might, at least,  get the idea of what stage makeup is and does.

BTW, stage makeup is not street makeup applied more heavily, although some of the same makeup techniqes are used. It is a specially formulated makeup that helps an actor appear to have natural color (for the character he’s playing) from both a distance and under intense stage lighting.  It generally is not found at your local drug store or  even cosmetic counter at a department store.  For best results, check with your local costume shop (not of the seasonal Halloween variety).  If you can’t find one locally, contact www.costumers.org for the closest one in your state.

BTW, we may even get into cuts bruises, scars and ugly monster makeup this month…or not.  Who knows?
