Personality Plays a Part!
Under the guise of a mask, makeup or a costume, you can be your own alter ego.
Are you the quiet, shy, retiring type? Are you happy to be in the background; but yet yearning to be the life of the Halloween party? Perhaps a hot, peppery Spanish dancer with a hint of cleavage, and a rose between your teeth. Or Lorelei, the siren of the seas, luring sailors with her hypnotic voice? Perhaps a Saloon Girl from the bawdy West or Mae West, a bawdy lady from the movies? And not to forget Scarlett O’Hara.
Are you an outgoing, Type A personality who always draws attention, no matter the venue? Wearing a costume that is opposite your personality is an option. Going as Sister Mary, or as a virginal ‘Marian the Librarian’ (from ‘The Music Man’). Comedy, ala a pairing with your significant other, as in a pair of jailbirds; or Rag Dolls like ‘Raggedy Ann and Andy’. Or opposites as in Satan and a beautiful angel? Laurel and Hardy make a great cinematic and party team.
Who are you or who do you want to be?

Christmas is only 1 day away!
NO, It’s Today!
Christmas is now here, with its array of costumed characters. Of course, Santa is our December star, but he needs a lot of help from Mrs. Santa, the elves, Dancer and Prancer and the rest of the reindeer and a few Santa Belles. Brrrr….it’s cold, but our Snowman is happy with the weather.
And the season abounds with Tin Soldiers, and Nutcrackers and Toy costumes of every kind. Not to mention “The Nutcracker” and “A Christmas Carol” costumes.
And how do we know all about costumes? We have been in business for 149 years (since 1860). Our origin goes back to the James Buchanan presidency (the one before Abraham Lincoln). That’s a long time ago, although none of us are quite that old .

Editors Note: Remove rings and watches, especially if Santa doesn’t use gloves. If you have tattoos or any other distinguishing mark (scar, blemish) on your hands or wrists, definitely wear gloves as small children sometimes see and recognize things that adults might overlook.

EDITORS NOTE: Bad Advice, Matt. Liquid Latex has ammonia as one of it’s primary ingredients. It should NEVER be used that close to the eyes, IMHO. Even after the ammonia evaporates, oft times there is a stinging or burning sensation.
It is also a latex (rubber like) based product which might cause an allergic reaction, or if it gets into the lashes or brows it might be difficult in removing. It also has a sheen, so that it will require a tad of powder to reduce the sheen.
BTW, the Santa Wig and beard used in this video is about a step or two up from the bottom grade. Poor sewing, too much shine, doesn’t look real…..a poor choice in a wig and beard set.

EDITORS NOTE: This is not the best way to put on a Santa stomach. This pillow is horizontal at the waistline; and it should be vertical from the tops of the shoulders down. When vertical, the pillow creates a nice smoothness from top to bottom, instead of this sample where Santa’s chest will be concave. Works best with a down pillow where the feathers settle at the bottom (waist) of the pillow.
