Snazeroo Face Paint

Snazeroo Face Paint

Next is Snazaroo, a brand that has been on the market for quite some time and in many ways I think blazed the trail in face paint products. This is a nice product and is a probably on the less expensive end of the pricing scale. The paint refills come in a very basic package that is best transferred to a paint palette for regular use. The pigment is not as strong with this brand and calls for more water and layering to achieve a fuller look. The drying time is descent but can be a bit long do to the necessary reapplication needed for the deeper texture.

Start at your nostril, follow the large crease down (if it’s hard to find smile, then follow the crease) to your mouth. In the first picture I have a brown line crossed out. I didn’t like the way it looked so I just wiped it off and fixed it. No sweat. You can see it fixed in the second picture. Draw the line and have it keep going past the mouth. Your cheeks are going to hang real low as you get geriatric. Blend that line out, it’s a bit thicker than the rest of your wrinkle lines.

So you have discovered the ideal man, the ideal wedding dress, and the ideal wedding area – you are all situated now, isn’t that so? All things considered, not right. Truth be told, assuming that you truly need all eyes to be on you on your enormous day, then you need to look your best. They might need to highlight their characteristic or hide some of their imperfections. One of the most ideal approaches to upgrade magnificence is to utilize Cosmetics. Cosmetics are truly influential and can truly convert your looks in different ways. It might require some great procedures be that as it may.

To zombify your costume, snip at the edges with a pair of scissors. Cut out chunks all around the clothing. Insert several slits with a box cutter so you’ll look like you’ve been clawed. Rub sandpaper against the garments for a frayed look. Rub dirt and grass against the outer surfaces of your clothes. You may want to leave grass and leaves in the pockets, too. Smear brown and red makeup and paint across your clothes so you’ll look muddy and dirty. The messier you look, the scarier you’ll appear. You want to resemble a zombie who’s been through a lot and is still ready for action.stage makeup, stage scenary, stage props, stage costumes

A Visit to a Monster Makeup/Accessories Factory

Perhaps you are getting an understanding of how deep the ‘costume’ business goes with the last several posts.  Here is another video, this time a trip to a factory that makes props, accessories and masks for the monster movie industry.  ’Monster’ defined as alien or at variance in one way or another to our normal view of what is human.

Stage productions and movies are  great, but where would they be without the artists and technicians  behind them?

Movie Makeup..It’s Evolution

Movie  Makeup…It’s Evolution

I came across this video about one of the old masters of makeup in the 30’s and 40’s.

Baked foam rubber….I never heard that one before, but then again, it was before my time.  I am curious as to what he meant by ‘foam rubber’.  It is what we consider foam rubber today or something else?

My first experience with ‘rubber’ masks was ordering a 50 gallon drum of latex and a 5 gallon drum of a cataylist to build my own masks and other prosthtics.  Every once in a while, I think maybe I’ll try that again.  The drawback?  You can get a LOT of masks out of 55 gallons of latex products (remember the math 50+5), and I would only want to make a few dozen masks.

Make Your Own Fangs

Make Your Own Fangs

How does this video fit into the theme of this site?  Simple,  Can you imagine making fangs or some other type of ugly teeth for your next Halloween party?   Converting this concept into fangs or decaying teeth might take a little creativity and imagination, but the end result should be fang-tastic.

Did I see a bottle of Gorilla Glue in this video?  Did he actually use Gorilla Glue to hold his newly made teeth in?  No wonder his teeth stay in for days.  This is highly NOT recommended as the means of affixing these fake teeth.  If you pursue this, I suggest using Dentucreme or some other product that is made specifically to affix dentures.

What I did like about this video, however, was how he formed the teeth to his own liking, and the natural coloration of those teeth.  CLICK HERE for more on masquerade and theatrical costumes.

If you saw our most recent post, we spoke of what you can do with crepe hair; and here is another use for the product.  Hmm…a werewolf for Halloween.  The part that discusses the facial hair and crepe hair comes about 8 minutes or so into the video so you might need to wade through the first several minutes.  For more on costumes, stage makeup and other things related, visit us HERE
